Common Sense Media Gets Presidential Candidates' Stances on Video Game Legislation Empty Common Sense Media Gets Presidential Candidates' Stances on Video Game Legislation

With the constant media coverage being given to all the U.S. presidential candidates these days, you may be wondering what their views are on the numerous attempts by different politicians to restrict violent video games. Common Sense Media sure did, so they reached out to twelve candidates, of which only four responded. Of those, John Edwards, Barack Obama, and Bill Richardson all stated they would essentially prefer parents and/or the video game industry to help regulate children’s access to violent games, without getting the government involved. Mitt Romney said he wants to protect us from a “societal cesspool of filth, pornography, violence, sex, and perversion” by targeting game retailers who sell violent video games.

Considering a few minutes ago I was blasting people online in Call of Duty 4, I think I at least know I’m not going to vote for Romney. Well, okay, I knew that already; but this just seals it.
