Massive Increase to Gaming Market in China for 2007
According to an article by Chella Ramanan on incgamers.com, the online gaming market in China rose by a whopping 60% last year. It is currently in excess of $1.66 billion, and it's thought that by 2010, the figure will be over $3 billion.
Apparently, the average gamer in China now spends between $7 and $12 a month to feed their computing habit, compared to only $5 in previous years, and Allison Luong, managing director at Pearl Research (the company who produced these figures) thinks there's potential for much more spending over the coming year.
But just how are these gamers meant to be playing more, what with all the time restrictions and other obstacles there are on gamers in China now?
