MapleSTORY Chapter 1-2
I don't think anyone who hasn't played Maplestory will actually understand this... I got bored one day and decided to make a story on this game.
I suppose Sanctified was about 8 then. She had gorgeous black hair that flowed in the wind like silk and cream colored skin. Her mother admired her. She would take Sanctified across Amherst to help her with groceries or buy new clothes. Showing everyone how proud she was of her daughter. Sanctified had gotten her hair from my dad when she was born.
Amherst, the place that she lived was a town in Maple Island. It was neither big nor small. But it was quite busy with tourists. Since everyone was dieing to see the famous Lucas of Amherst because Maria always had mail for him.
Of course, every town in Maple Island was required to have a school, a playground, a pot shop everything you might find in a medium sized town. But of course, there were always children who dreamed of leaving their home town and never coming back. They dreamed of becoming a Maple Hero.
I mentioned schools in Amherst right? They taught what was normally taught in every school in Maple Island: How to attack, jump, and climb for Gym. There was always Setting your stats class for the ultimate damage, as some kids called it, some history on the Great Heros of Maple, and as always, the geography of the whole continent of Maple. This included four basic islands. Maple Island, Victoria Island, Ossyria, and Ludibrium. There were minor islands, such as Florina Beach near the coast of Victoria Island but those werent important.
Amherst was and still is a safe place to live. At least it was in town. It was very dangerous to once someone were to leave the barriers and enter the forest. Only people brave enough like Mai, the female warrior went out of town and back as trips. Or, if you ever wanted to leave this small island, set foot onto bigger soil, such as Victoria Island, and never come back, well, that was another reason to leave.
Sanctified had no friends. She had all the friends she needed. Her sister, Avarice. She loved her and thought she was the best sister ever.
Avarice treated her sister well. They were like best friends and helped each other out when they got into trouble. There was none of that Sisterly Arguments that most people got into.
Avarice had beautiful black hair as well. But much longer and very wavy. Her skin was the same cream colored as Sanctified. Her eyes were a dangerous red, but soft at the same time. Sanctified wanted to be just like her sister. She followed Avarice to the outskirts of Amherst. Unaware of why her sister was there killing snails.
Sanctified was unaware of anything at that time. She had no clue why her dad hasnt been home for one full year. She was clueless why her mother had been crying. She had no idea why her sister had a fruit knife in her hands at all time and was always in the forest that her mother warned her about. After all, who could blame her? She was 8.
'Avarice, I want you to go to SouthPerry. Do you mind taking your sister to buy some shirts?', Sanctifieds mother asked her sister. 'Shes never been anywhere besides Amherst and I want her to go somewhere else for a day as a vacation. I really need the day alone to myself. Is that ok honey?'
'Yeah sure mom.' her sister replied. She was eager to take Sanctified with her, since going alone was no fun. 'Where are the 3 red potions?'
'Right here.' Her mom said as she handed me one and my sister two. She opened the door for them. 'Dont use them if you dont need to and Avarice, watch out for your sister. I dont want anything to happen.'
Sanctified followed her sister out the door of their house. She stared at the fruit knife in her hand. She was use to seeing it.
'Ava Where are we going?' Sanctified asked. She was use to calling her sister Ava. 'Mom said we could go to SouthPerry. Ive never been there, but my teacher told me about it.'
'Dont worry about it. I have some mesos. Ill buy you a weapon ok?' Avarice grinned, 'You learned how to attack in class right?'
'Yeah, but I never used a real weapon before. All they give us in Gym is plastic ones.' Sanctified said as they entered the weapon shop, 'Besides, what will mom say?'
'Ill pretend that its mine if she asks' Ava replied. She picked up a Sword. 'Would you prefer a Sword, Hand Axe, or Wooden Club? I guess a Sword would be lighter so its easier to handle.'
Sanctified nodded. She looked at the price. 50 mesos. How could her sister be able to afford this? She stared at her sisters back. The long wavy black hair covered most of it. Avarice was testing out the weapons.
The store was dark. The only light coming from a small light bulb that hung on the ceiling. The store manager was roughly 40 and bald. The weapons were neatly placed in barrels and some hung in the background of the clerk. The barrels were labeled Sword, Hand Axe and Wooden Club. There were also small boxes with Razors or Fruit Knives in them. Those cost much more than the ones in the barrels.
'Hey clerk, Ill buy this one.' Avarice said leaning over the counter. 50 mesos right? She smiled.
'Are you going to the forest to train your sister or something?' The clerk said. He took a piece of cloth and began wiping the Sword. 'And since Ive seen you come to this shop a lot, Ill give it to you for 25 mesos. 50% discount. Ok?'
Avarice put the 25 mesos on the counter. 'Hey thanks.' She said, 'Saint, follow me.' Saint was what Sanctifieds sister called her.
They left the shop and walked out of the town of Amherst.
The air was sweet. Is this the so-called dangerous forest that most people were afraid to walk in? It wasnt dangerous through Sanctifieds eyes. She spotted a red snail. Her teacher had warned her about them. Sanctified approached the snail. She looked into its curious eyes. Was this snail like me? Do we not understand danger and why we were here? Sanctified reached out her hand as if to touch the snail.
'SAINT, WATCH OUT!' her sister screamed. She raised her fruit knife above her head and hit the snail. It was surprised. What wouldnt be if they were suddenly attacked? And struck Avarice back. Mostly out of fear. The snail missed. Avarice killed the snail with her final attack. Level Up appeared above her sisters head. Avarice seemed surprised, and looked at Sanctified carefully in the eyes. She smiled a sad but pretty smile. Sanctified wondered why her sister smiled at her that way. You really should be careful. Dont touch anything when you dont know what they are and what they could do.
They began walking once again. Sanctified looked around. Still curious of what was there. Snails, Blue Snails, Shrooms, Red Snails, and Orange Mushrooms. They all seemed so big A snail was about half the size of her body. Sanctified stared at her sister walking.
'Hmm?' Ava asked. She had just noticed Sanctified looking at her.
'Im just wondering about something.' Sanctified said.
'You can ask me whatever.' Ava said. 'You know I wont tell mom if thats what youre scared of.'
Sanctified walked ahead of her sister. Pretending nothing happened.
They soon reached a sign that separated Amherst with SouthPerry.
After arriving at the town, Avarice sat on The Relaxer 1. Sanctified sat down next to her.
'Ava' Sanctified started, 'I want to ask you a question now.'
'Yeah, sure' Her sister began, 'Ask away, Ill try my best to tell you the answer to whatever you may be curious about.'
'Wheres dad?' She asked.
Avarice suddenly turned pale. But began speaking anyway. 'I promised I would answer you right? She smiled at her sister. And so Ill tell you from beginning to end.'
