Other Games: Warhammer 40K Dawn of War series
Perhaps one of the reasons I'm not level 70 is I've been distracted.
I recently bought the entire Dawn of War series and I've been playing that a bit as well. I'm a horrible person I know. I'd make the all Hardcore people weep, cry and mourn.
Like I give a rat's ass? Cuz I don't.
Imperial Guard (and Shammies) FTW.
I like the fact that their vehicles kick the most ass easily. Baneblades and Lemun Russes FTW. I was a little disapointed that in Dark Crusade (The second expansion pack for the game) the Imperial guard was limited to making having only two Lemun Russes on the field at a time... Oh well. It's more then enough when combined with the Baneblade, and maybe a few other things.
For those of you who are clueless as heck as to what I'm talking about, www.dawnofwargame.com* should give you insight (don't worry Mods, it's Gold-Ad free). The Baneblade is a tank of massive proportions that sports 11 guns. Two Laser guns, four machine guns, two massive cannons and one smaller cannon. The Lemun Russ tank sports four guns, a main turret and 3 machine guns. They are all highly effective and blowing things up, and the Baneblade is fun to use when it blows infantry units sky high.
The one thing that always disapointed me about the Warhammer 40K series is that it takes place in 40,000 AD, and Humanity is still using machine guns, lasers and other forms of "modern day" weaponry. You'd think that 38,000 years from now we'd be using a little more advanced. In my mind, I'd be seeing Humanity using something like the top notch technology availabe in the Master of Orion series. Damn I miss that game. MOO2 was the best. I always had problems with MOO3. I never could get anywhere. Always running into Red planets up one end and down the other. Might take another whack at it soon. I feel like an awful person having never beaten a game of Master of Orion III when I've beaten countless games of Master of Orion I and II.
Back on track of Dawn of War in Dark Crusade the Tau and Necrons are introduced and I like playing as the Tau sometimes.
If you want to know how poor my creativity can be at times, I created my own Necron color scheme (you can create your own color schemes of the different factions) and I colored the main body bright white with purple trim and called the army Azeroth. All of the Necron Armies are named after the planet on which they originate. So yes, I based this off of The Scourge. For those that played WCIII whenever you controlled the Scourge your color was purple. That's where the purple comes in. Ah well.
Hopefully I'll be getting back onto WoW soon. I hope to be 63 by the end of the month. If I can find massive time, I'll be 65. Which would be good. The guild I want to get into (to be more accurate, back into) has a level requirement of 65.
If your curious, the guild is called Legacy of Legends on the Scarlet Crusade US server, if you want to check out the Armory entry for it.
If your wondering what type of game Dawn of War is, it's RTS like the Warcraft and Starcraft games are. It's also a damn good RTS, so if your into that stuff, I'd definatly recomend it. Even if you have absolutly no knowledge about Warhammer 40K, it's a good RTS game.
Damn I rambled today.
