Tips for Kerning PQ Empty Tips for Kerning PQ

Post  vmvznv Wed Apr 09, 2008 3:41 am

Like the title, this is only a list of tips, not a guide that tells you what is Kerning pq. This guide is based on my experiences on Kerning pq. A lot of them are common sense but I'd still like to share with you. This is my first ever guide so please don't flame ><

For Leaders:

I.Choosing your members:
Magicians are very very important in pq. Although the party can still go on without mages, it is always best to have at least one. They really save us a lot of time especially with King Slime. To-be Sins are also very good. Warriors are not that great in pq though. Here's a combination that you might want to consider:

Magician - level25+
To-be Sin - level 25+
To-be Bandit - level27+
You

II.With track or without track:
Tracks are always useful. It definitely safe us a lot of time. But one thing that we have to consider is: if you bought the track, know that the channel will probably have more than 2 parties, including yours.
What if you don't have track? You can always search for an empty channel. An empty channel should NOT have any party besides yours. Be aware of anyone that comes by. If you suspect if a person's a scout, request party. When you noticed a lot people started coming by, start clicking. Always count the number of parties in the channel. Most importantly, do not change channel every 10 minutes. You are just wasting your time. The original channel you are waiting might be in stage 4 already, yet you don't have the patience to wait, you go to a channel that is at stage 1. Absolutely no point.

III.Clicking:
I do not encourage auto clicks. Auto clicks do not guarantee 100% you can get in. I do pure natural clicking myself. Instead of double clicking Lakelis and enter, you should move the "ok" button over Lakelis.

IV.Stage 1:
Leaders shall always help out your members. Do not ask "are you done yet?" too many times because it is very irritating. If they're done, they will tell you. If some members are done earlier than others and decide to sit at the side and watch, ask them politely to help the others. Don't ever force them though.

V.Stage 2, 3, and 4:
At these stages we have to try combinations. If one of your members is a newb and doesn't know what to do, either ask another member to switch place with him (the one that doesn't move much) or tell him to get off and replace him yourself. Don't be mean and keep calling him/her noob. Tell him/her to watch closely of what you or the other member is doing.

VI.Last Stage:
Remember to tell your members not to corner kill. Also do not kill the left over slimes after defeated the King Slime. Leader shall always help out your members, or if you don't want to, give out pots to your members if they need.

VII.Bonus and rushing:
If your members want to train, let them train for a bit. No matter you want to rush or not, don't stay for too long. The people out there will start whispering you and/or members and curse. If you are rushing, remember to send a scout and jot down all the names. Also tell him/her to report the number of parties out there. When you decided it's the time to leave, send out 1 person first. Make sure he/she is there at the pq place. Then you and the other member go. Hopefully you will be near enough and start clicking as soon as you got there.

VIII.How to treat your members:
As being a leader, you have the responsibility to take care of your members. If they need pots, give them. Leader shall always inform your members of what you are going to do. You can also ask your members of their opinions. But do not ask too many question since it would show them you don't know what you are doing. LOOK LIKE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, EVEN IF YOU DON'T. You may ask why we have to treat nicely to the members. It is because if they don't like you or trust you, they will leave the party once you missed. Then you will have to waste your time going to channel 1 and get another person again. Even if you got in, there would be a great chance that the members do not listen to your advices.

Here's something that I like to do while me and my members are waiting for pq. I play number game with them. I'm not saying every leader should do this, but I just feel this is a good way to communicate with your members. (They might like you more and thus, listen to you more xD) The number game is simply telling them to guess a number between 1-50, 1-100, any range you want. It is always good to give them some reward for guessing the right number. It might be aqua snowboard, 5k, yellow rose, anything you want.

IX.Why is it good to be a leader?
You have a bigger chance of getting into pq. Being a member, you might come across some leaders that obviously do not know what they are doing. In my experience, I can get into pq for at least twice if I'm the leader. But if I was a member, it's more likely that I can't get in.

For Members:

I. Starting off
After you were chosen to be in a party, first thing you don't want to do is this: "TRACK?TRACK?TRACK?TRACK?AC?AC?AC?AC?" It does no good to you because the leader might just kick you out. But you can always leave if you know the leader does not have track.
If you know the track is at last stage or bonus, dont go CLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICK! This gives the leader pressure and thus might lead to missing. A little advice is fine, don't overdo it.

II.Stage 1:
Help others if you are finished.

III.Stage 2, 3, and 4:
Know what you are doing and pay attention to the combinations.

IV.Last Stage
It is similar to the leader part: don't corner kill and don't kill left over slimes. Also, tell the leader if you need pots. Don't stand aside and watch.

V.Bonus:
Nothing much about bonus. =P

VI.What NOT to do as a member:
1) Leave the party without telling anyone else. Especially when you have waited there for a while already.
2) Keep training while the members tell you to go back.
3) Go to pharmacy when you know the rest of the party want to rush.

VII.The pros of being a member:
1) you don't have the pressure of missing.
2) you can always blame the leader for everything.

And here's the end of my Tips. I hope this helps.http://www.onrpg.com/boards/42374.html
