[Build] Balanced GvG, Durable, Fairly Easy to Play build
Today we played Malo Servo in GvG (Rank 851 Europe) and they ran a pretty standard balanced build that looked like it would be fun to run.
Here it is:
#1 Warrior/Elementalist
1) Dragon Slash
2) Sever Artery
3) Gash
4) For Great Justice
5) Frenzy
6) Rush
7) Bulls Strike
Rez Signet
I would probably replace this with a Melandru's Dervish.
#2 Warrior/Elementalist
1) Eviscerate
2) Executioner's Strike
3) Shock
4) Bulls Strike
5) Frenzy
6) Rush
7) Agonizing Chop
Rez Signet
Your basic Shock Warrior. Shock to start the spike followed by Frenzy, Eviscerate, Executioners, & Agonizing Chop. Great at holding a target in place during spike to prevent kiting. Add stonefist insignia for 3 second knockdowns. Can't wander off alone with no self heal or condition removal.
#3 Paragon/Warrior
1) Defensive Anthem
2) Spear of Lightning
3) Wild Throw
4) Anthem of Flame
5) Watch Yourself
6) Shields Up
7) Aggressive Refrain
Signet of Return
Great DPS and team defense to anchor the squad. Aggressive Refrain at the start of battle + Shouts ensures continuous attack speed buff. Spike with Wild Throw & Spear of Lightning. Positioning on this character is important - keep the midline & back line in range for the defensive shouts.
#4 Mesmer/Elementalist
1) Energy Surge
2) Diversion
3) Shame
4) Power Leak
5) Shatter Enchantment
6) Ward vs Melee
7) Glyph of Lesser Energy
Rez Signet
Effective and fairly easy to play. Shutdown monks with Diversion & Shame. Catch a monk casting Aegis with your Power Leak and they lose 19 energy! Spike with Shatter Enchantment if they are enchanted or Energy Surge if they are not.
#5 Ranger/Monk
1) Magebane Shot
2) Apply Poison
3) Screaming Shot
4) Distracting Shot
5) Natural Stride
6) Mending Touch
7) Troll Unguent
Rez Signet
Absolute pain in the neck for Monks with Magebane & Distracting Shot to shut down skillbars. Spreads Poison & Bleeding with Apply Poison & Screaming Shot. Fully mobile and ready to solo with self heal, run buff & condition removal. Could carry second hard rez if needed.
#6 Monk/Elementalist
1) Word of Healing
2) Dwayna's Kiss
3) Draw Conditions
4) Infuse Health
5) Protective Spirit
6) Holy Veil
7) Glyph of Lesser Energy
Aegis
#7 Monk/Elementalist
1) Restore Condition
2) Reversal of Fortune
3) Gift of Health
4) Guardian
5) Spirit Bond
6) Deny Hexes
7) Glyph of Lesser Energy
Aegis
#8 Rt/E (Flagger)
1) Weapon of Remedy
2) Weapon of Warding
3) Wielder's Boon
4) Storm Djinn's Haste
5) Freezing Gust
6) Ancestor's Rage
7) Splinter Weapon
Rez Signet
When flagging, Storm Djinns for mobility & Freezing Gust to snare the other flagger. When with the team, cast Splinter Weapon & Ancestor's Rage on the Warriors for added damage & spikes. Protect self & NPC's with Weapon of Remedy, Weapon of Warding & Wielders Boon. Only downside is no hex removal.
How this build plays
With 2 x Aegis, Guardian, Defensive Anthem, Watch Yourself, Shields Up & Ward vs Melee this build has nothing to fear from Physical Damagers. Everyone except the Warriors are packing some sort of defense.
On Offense, the Mesmer & Ranger shut down the enemy Monks with Magebane/Distracting & Diversion/Shame. In addition to the pressure, the team can spike effectively with 2 Warriors and the Paragon, Mesmer, & Ranger chipping in.
Against Splits, the Ranger and Ritualist work very well in solo situations and the team has many options for larger splits because everyone has some defensive capability. http://www.theamazonbasin.com/gw/forums/index.php?showtopic=9188
