I've been looking around lately and i've seen lots of people have the issue of not being able to locate the npcs and the general mostly. The help window is incorrect he is not south of Chang'an. I will explain where to go and what to do in this guide. For those of you who want the exact cordinates they are listed above they will take u directly infront of the NPCs.

Part 1: To start off the quest you must first head WEST not south to meet General Sonhyeon. (Select Start Conversation)He will the instruct you on how to move about in the game and then sends you to visit the Armor/Protecter Merchant jangbuin ( Check your map by click the name of Chang'an to zoom inside of the town and look for Protecter shop by pressing M. You can zoom out by press the little world icon next to the minimize/maximize button.) "start a conversation" with her and she will teach you a few hints after she finishes she will then give you a free pair of gloves and you must equip them by dragging them into the glove slot.

Reward:
Gloves,(depending on starting armor)
60 Exp

Part 2: After Finishing with the Armor merchant you must then return to General Sonhyeon for the next part in the quest. He tells you how to use items, after he finishes you will then be asked to visit General shop Clerck JinJin (Press M and locate General shop), you must also start a conversation with this NPC but twice this time. First time she gives you a Ring, which you must put on before talking to her again. Than after that you must talk to her again to finish it.

Ume Copper Ring
60 Exp

Part 3: After Finishing with the General merchant you must return once again to General Sonhyeon. He then instructs you on how to buy/sell items at Vending NPCs. After that he gives you 200 Gold to buy a herb for him from the herbalist. You must go to the Herbalist Yangikji (locate on map by pressing M, and search for Drugstore) and buy 1 HP recovery herb, after that talk to Yangikji for more info and you'll be done with this part.

Reward:
140 Gold
60 Exp

Part 4: Yes you guessed you must return once again to General Sonhyeon with the Red herb and talk to him about fighting he will then ask you to fight 30 Mangyang ( Located directly West,South and East of the city ) and bring back the evidence, don't worry about dieing if you are under level 5 you will lose no exp. After gathering the 30 kills return to the General to complete the quest entirely he will reward you greatly for you efforts.

Reward:
30 HP recovery Herbs
Shoulders,depending on your starting armor.
