cant update?

ok.. so i instailed the game and at first id open the mini launcher off my desk top and it would say connection error so i looked up that i should go through program files and open the launcher in there so i do and it opens to the updater and it just sits at connecting... and i cant get the dam thing to update ... i rebooted and that didnt help any... any body have any solutions in mind?
