The DING! Factor

The DING! Factor
How do you obtain the almighty "DING!"? How do you go about getting that next level? Their are a number of ways: questing, grinding, instance-running, guild power-leveling, other sources "power-leveling"...their are probably more, but that's all I can think of at the moment. Their are a variety of ways and each person has their own personal preference.
I have always been an explorer in WoW, and that’s one of the main ways I keep myself entertained. I think of myself as like one of the people from Lord of the Rings, gallivanting around the world, discovering new and exciting places, fending off fierce predators and evil creatures. Even just traveling from one place to another can be an adventure. Thus, I quest.
I’m the type of quester that must finish every quest that enters my quest log. If some poor soul gave me something to do, I do it. Very rarely do I drop a quest. I feel a sense of failure when I do. I like to see something to the end, even if it takes longer then it should. I also generally quest alone. I may do the odd bunch of quests with a guildie, but I rarely ever PUG a quest, unless it’s a rather difficult group quest. But being a hunter, soloing is like second nature.
I also grind, from time to time. On those nights I don’t have a lot of time to put into questing, I’ll go and do a little grinding, maybe for rep, maybe for mats, or just to get that little bit of XP and gold. It’s not my most favorite past time in WoW, but it can pass the time when there is not much else to do.
Out of all of it though, doing instances is probably my favorite. That sense of accomplishment when a group takes down each boss until the place is completely cleared is great. I would love to be able to do instances more, but unfortunately the guild I am in tends to operate at a later time then I am able to participate at. I will do the occasional instance PUG, but often the time it takes just to get a group to do an instance is more then I can afford. I’m also one that likes to maintain as good a set of gear as I can get, so doing instances is good for this.
As Tanitha put it, being on a PvP server, in order to be somewhat safe, you need to level. It’s simply a matter of survival of the fittest. If I want to make sure my Dwarf hide doesn’t end up on some Orc’s hut wall, I need to level. That doesn’t mean I go as fast as I can. I’m exploring. I take my time, see the sites, help a few people out, and carry on my way.
All in all, I’m just here to have fun. I explore the world, defeat evil, and live (sometimes) to tell the fabulous tales. In the end, Its Just a Game. (Best guild ever! )
