[edit] Skill Builds

Since there are only three skills, not many skill builds may be made. Also, most skills are relatively ineffective past the beginner stage. However, depending on the class a beginner will be, some alternatives are better than others. Still, Beginner SP cannot be used on any other skills so there is little reason not to use these points.

[edit] Pre-Warrior, Pre-Bowman, Maple Island Perma-Beginner

1. 3 Nimble Feet
2. 3 Free

Warriors, Bowmen on Maple Island (and the Maple Island Perma-Beginners) will have the highest possible damage. As such, they do not need a move like Three Snails to inflict damage, though Recovery has little use once a Beginner hits level 10 and becomes a Warrior. A Bowman might still find some use from Recovery, however.

[edit] Pre-Magician

1. 1 Three Snails
2. 3 Recovery
3. 2 Nimble Feet

Magicians on Maple Island have the lowest damage, rarely going above 2-3 points. The single point in Three Snails allows a Mage to throw a Green Snail Shell at another Green Snail, killing it instantly and possibly regaining that shell. Recovery heals a very large percent of HP to a Magician in exchange for a low percent of MP after the first job advancement. Nimble allows for a good speed boost before Teleport is effective.

[edit] Pre-Rogue

1. 1 Three Snails
2. 3 Recovery
3. 2 Free

The reasoning behind this is simple: Rogues get Haste past first job, making Nimble a waste of points. Level 1 Three Snails is nice to throw a Green Snail Shell at another Green Snail, killing it instantly and possibly regaining that shell.

[edit] Stat builds

The following are three distinct Beginner stat builds. They are all similar to Warrior builds.

[edit] High STR Beginner

This build focuses on Strength due to the lack of available weapons. Strength must be increased to match that of a Warrior's.

* STR: All other Ability Points that do not go into DEX.
* DEX: 2 points above current level.
* INT: Add nothing.
* LUK: Add nothing.

This build will level the quickest.

[edit] High DEX Beginner

This build focuses on Dexterity to be primarily accurate and evasive. Some Beginners who use this build incorporate LUK for more avoidability.

* STR: Player's choice; should remain around current level.
* DEX: All other Ability Points that do not go into STR/LUK.
* INT: Add nothing.
* LUK: Add nothing (may incorporate some for extra avoidability).

This build will level slower than the first, but will be able to hit almost anything.

[edit] "Warrior" Beginner

This build is exactly the same as a Warrior's build. Note: the player may want to take a few points out of DEX and add it into STR so that they do not fall behind in damage.

* STR: All other Ability Points that do not go into DEX.
* DEX: Double your current level.
* INT: Add nothing.
* LUK: Add nothing.

[edit] Monster Masterer

A Beginner who specializes in killing one monster

* STR: Add until you can 1HKO it.
* DEX: Only add Until you can hit it 70-80% of the time, then add the rest later (unless you stay on Maple Island, then add nothing).
* INT: Add nothing.
* LUK: Add last until it can't hit you.

Another idea for DEX is to keep it 10 above your current level for stable damage and good accuracy.http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/Beginner_Guide/Builds
