Observer Mode, The impact, an idea.
Folks
With the recent launch of Observer Mode (ZOMG!), there is a fantastic opportunity to examine, discuss and learn from the mistakes OTHER teams make in PvP, without having to make them yourself before you learn! I'm told by a usually reliable source that at the moment, any GvG between a team in the top 200 and any other team, is viewable.
The real power with this, given the lack of a replay feature, is the ability to FRAPS capture a battle after its over, therefore avoiding the performance hit that comes from running FRAPS while trying to compete at a serious level. For TOMBS, where its a HoH battle or a guild in the Top 200, thats easy enough cause most battles don't last the 15m that the broadcast is delayed. For GvG its not so easy.
If the battle isn't over, then you'll miss the most intriguing part of the battle by missing the first few minutes, which is where most battles are really decided. But you could have a 9th person as part of your team, whose job it is to watch the replay.
Where possible, we'll be trying to FRAPS Gerbils battles for internal training purposes, which means we actually need 9 people along to a session now. Uff! I'd love to see video footage from other Basin teams as well.
How are YOU going to use Observer Mode to improve your play? http://www.theamazonbasin.com/gw/forums/index.php?showtopic=4435
