We Love you Malcolm, What makes a good leader? Empty We Love you Malcolm, What makes a good leader?

I"m not here to suggest I know the forumla that will sprout potential leaders all over the planet.

I just wanted to say in three gvg battles last night Malcolm tried his best to lead us to victory. And he did on more than one occasion. In our last battle, I could hear the frustration level rising through teamspeak. We did our best and lost but not because our leader failed. We had one person drop early... so we had one less damage dealer. We could not crack these guys for the longest time. We kept getting moral boosts as they did not exchange the flag very often but the frustrating part was that we'd get one character down to a sliver of health and boom he was back to full health. I'm not sure what they were doing but every time we concentrated fire on one target and almost kill it they managed to rally and heal the darn thing. Including a mage henceman that was incredibly helpful to them.

At any rate we were forced back into standing by the guild lord. At that point the battle looked very dire. I'm not sure who determined to shatter enchantments and I'm not sure exactly when, but they decided that they could do that especially when we got the enemy target down to 50% health. The battle took a significant upswing in our direction at that point and we managed to take them out all the way back to and including entering their hall. We took out archers and arcanists and we were focusing on the guild lord. Malcolm I'm not sure if you knew it or not but that guild lord was at 50% health and bleeding with a deep wound inflicted by me just as I too got dropped. Sorry to have to say that.... isp's what can you do?

By the time I got my rounter and cable modem rebooted... yes I had to do that to get back on line. (I really don't know what that was all about). The tide had turned for the worse again. Down two players and proabably your tanks and damage dealers did not help us win that battle and I"m sure you did everything you could to help our team. We did remarkably well and in no small part to your leadership. Don't be hard on yourself Malcolm.

The major downside of the battle did definetly turn on the amazing amout of chatter on teamspeak. I'm sure Malcolm's frustration was rising because as leader he could not be heard at times for the directions he was giving. This needs to be worked on as a group for future battles. Malcolm certainly addressd the topic clearly in post game. I just hope we all take that in for future battles as I would follow your lead again at any time Malcolm.

Sorry for that long winded .... what ever that was....

Now perhaps more of you can contribute to what makes a good leader in a gvg battle situation.

What attributes should the leader bring forward.
Giving direction?
Calmness on teamspeak?
Aggressiveness?
Decision making?
experience in game?
patience?
etc etc etc.

I'm positive that the basin can come up with very good, if not an encompasing, list. I have seen how hectic a guild battle can become and how leadership can save the day.
Perhaps some suggestions or hints from everyone would help aspring and veterans alike get to be better leaders. http://www.theamazonbasin.com/gw/forums/index.php?showtopic=2962
