European Equipment
European Equipment
European Equipment is split into three areas; weapons, body protectors, accessories. Another interesting fact: European protectors are actually determained by the character's mastery level rather than the actual level of the character itself.
European Weapons
Warriors mastery allows use of 1-Handed Sword, as well as the two-handed weapons 2 Handed Sword and Dual Axe.
Rogue mastery allows use of the two-handed weapons Crossbow and Dagger.
Wizard mastery allows use of a two handed Staff.
Warlock mastery allows use of the one-handed Warlock Rod.
The Cleric mastery allows use of the one-handed Cleric Rod.
The Bard mastery allows use of the two-handed Harp.
Shields: Shields can be equipped if the character uses a one-handed weapon, they increase defense and give the character a chance to block attacks depending on the block ratio (abbreviated "BR").
European Body protection
Only Warriors can use Heavy Armor, which has great physical defense and little magical defense, similar to the Chinese Armor equipment series. Warriors may also wear Light Armor if they chose, but generally most will prefer Heavy Armor.
Rogues, Warriors, and Clerics may wear Light Armor, which is the equivalent to the Chinese Protector equipment series.
Robe, the equivalent to the Chinese Garment, can be worn by the Bard, Cleric, Warlock and Wizard masteries.
European Accessories
In addition to clothing, characters can also wear accessories such as rings, necklaces, and earrings that can increase the rate of reincarnation of hit points and mana points.
Item Mall
The Item Mall allows a character to buy items with "Silk," game currency bought with real money via Paypal, credit card, or other methods through the official site. Silk cannot be traded between players. Examples include an experience-enhancing scroll, pets (monkey, wolf, bunny, pig, squirrel) and decorations for a player's stall.
Skills
Chinese masteries and skills
In Silkroad Online, skills are divided between weapon and elemental masteries. Within each mastery, there are many series of skills that can be learned. In addition, each mastery can only be reached up to the current level of the character.
Chinese weapon masteries
Bicheon (Swordmanship) gives special skills for sword, blade, and shield, and increases blocking ratio with shield.
Heuksal (Spearmanship) gives skills for spears and glaives, and increases health.
Pacheon (Bowmanship) gives skills for bows, and increases hit ratio.(White Hawk Summon or above)
Chinese force masteries
Fire: Increases damage and has a chance to burn the target, increases the character's physical attack power, and magical defense from certain attacks. The Fire line is generally considered the damage line.(is highly recommended for pure str builds)
Lightning: Has a chance to decrease the enemy's parry ratio, increases the character's moving speed and parry ratio. The Lighting line is generally considered the utility line.(Is also considered a must for pure int)
Cold: Increases damage and defense, as well as adding a chance to freeze or frostbite the enemy. The Cold line is generally considered the defensive line.
Force: Skills include healing, resurrection, removing abnormal (adverse) status effects, prevention of preemptive attacks, and increases mana. The Force line is generally considered the support line.
European masteries and skills
As with the Chinese Masteries, European masteries are split into classes. For the European masteries: Melee, Caster, and Buffer, and their subclasses Warrior, Rogue, Wizard, Warlock, Bard, and Cleric. Also, the current mastery level of a subclass cannot exceed the current level of the character, and you can only have a total mastery (the sum of your mastery levels) less than or equal to two times your level and they use new skill its earth.
European class masteries
Melee Class: Warrior and Rogue
Warrior: Utilizes increased HP and defensive skills to take damage for the rest of the party, or distribute damage evenly among the party members. They also deal great physical damage.
Rogue: Uses stealth to sneak up on or retreat from enemies, manipulate their appearance with the Mask and Duplicate techniques. They also inflict poison, stun, bleed, knock-down and knock-back attacks. They also have a considerably high chance of a critical attack.
Caster Class: Wizard & Warlock
Wizard: Uses the Elements to deal great magical damage, similar to the Chinese Force classes. They utilize Earth, Cold (or water), Fire, and Lightning (or air). They are good at PVE but have extremely low health points and in order for them to gain the upper hand in PVP, they must attack first, as they usually severely damage a foe if not kill him in one hit.
Warlock: Inflicts status effects (poison, dull, sleep, dark, fear), stat reduction, HP leeching attacks (Vampire) and DPS attacks (Bleed). They also manipulate the appearance of themselves and their party members through the use of the Illusion and Scream Mask Their primary role in a party is to weaken and/or stun the enemy to a state that the party can better defeat. Warlock is actually one of the least played of all European characters and the least known about. Thus, it's generally impossible to know how they prevail in pvp.
Buffer Class: Bard & Cleric
Bard: Restore MP. Through the use of buffs they increase the party's walking speed, reduce the party's MP consumption, increase hit rate and defense, and increase physical and magical damage. They can also deal some magical damage.
Cleric: Similar to the Chinese Force mastery. Their primary role is to restore HP, cure status effects, resurrect, and provide buffs to their party that provide protection and increased strength. They can deal a large amount of damage (the largest stat-wise) using the Offering or Pure Offering skills, but it will cut 95% of their HP.
Game problems and exploits
The frequency of these problems vary for each individual user; some users claim that they have never or rarely experienced these problems, while others claim to experience them very often.
Server capacity limits
Each server has a limit of players that can be logged in simultaneously. When a specific server has reached the limit, it stops allowing logins until space is cleared. During peak hours, this can lead to numerous attempts at logging in (which involve restarting the client), due to the lack of a login queuing system or other login control features. Customers that purchase a Premium Ticket (PT) for US$20 or US$15 can login regardless of server traffic. When a player with a Premium Ticket attempts a login, and the server has reached its limit, an additional spot will be granted for that player, and the server limit will be increased by 1, until someone leaves that server. Although the recent updates have helped immensely.
New programs have enabled botters to bot again and increase server traffic.
Lag
Though Silkroad has continuously added equipment to reduce lag, and though they are trying round the clock,[2][3] many players still complain about instances of lag in the game, particularly in crowded areas, such as in towns or during fights with unique monsters.
Crashes
Quite occasionally, the game will crash without warning or explanation, possibly endangering the validity of player accounts. The actual cause of the random crashes are due to faulty coding and overlooked bugs in the system which cause memory leaks, errors and stability issues.
