Motivation:
To help your motivation i decided to make a test. I took my rest stated level 18 warlock, and tested how quickly i could make it turn 19 with just pure grinding in Loch Modan. The answer was 30 minutes, and i couldn’t do any better. Then my friend took his level 18 warrior alt, (also rested) and did the same. His warrior was 19 in about an hour.
My friend pulled 2 mobs, thunder clapped, demo shouted and cleaved them to death, then bandaged and charged to a new pair. In order to get cloth for your bandages, you must kill humanoids, which will try to run away at low health. So hamstring them.
So if my firend was doing the best he could, how could i then be faster with my lock? Everyone knows the answer. I was doing damage on 2-3 targets at the same time, with less than no downtime at all. Warlock can steal hp from the mobs and turn it into mana, kill endlessly and self rez, when something goes wrong.
Warrior grinding in the lower levels is basicly heroic strike spamming and charging to another mob, bandaging after 2-3 fights. You must always fight mobs 2-3 lower than you are so things won’t get out of hands easily. And.. Listen to music while at it. Grinding gets easier over time, renember that.
Besides! Plate looks better than no other gear, you will always be wielding a handsome weapon and you usually get a lot of easy invites to groups. Been a warrior is great, you just have to know where to get the right gear, and i am here to tell you that.

So now we will move to the real topic. I have added useful links of about everything i considered useful. Weapons, guides, maps.. I will also mention some quests, which are good to do, and give more info on the specs and the type of gear you should be using arounf each level. And more on the gear, pick strength, stamina and agility in that order. Search AH and ask around for special hit rating increasing rings and necklaces. One hit rating slot in your gear is ok if you are arms, but it’s a lot more vital if you are fury.
FIRTS TEN LEVELS:
You have choosed yoyur race and it’s time to start playing your warrior. Warrior seems very powerful for the first 30 minutes, after it mobs get tougher, harder to kill. Try to finish all the quests in your starting zone before heading to another one.
Professions: http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread….05821329&sid=1
First aid is a must, your warrior is nothing without this.
Blacksmithing is very expensive, pick it up now, and you will be broke to the skill cap limit which is 375. Getting there costs around 5000 gold, but mining helps.
Alchemy is the cheapest profession. This doesn’t make it the worst, in fact it makes it one of the best profs for warriors. Healing potions, elixirs, oils, long duration buffs. Fantastic! Even herbalism is easy to level.
Enchanting is a big money sink, but you can dischant your old gear and sell the dropped dischant in AH for more money. Besides this prof makes up for it’s expensive side on the long run. You can even enchant your own gear and make enough money for your level 40 mount, which is hard to get if you don’t have a rich main character.
Skinning is the easiest way to make money. It doesn’t function as well as it would with leatherworking, but you can skin almost every mob in the outdoor world and make so much money that you don’t care.
Engineering is expensive as well. There’s pretty much only one item in engineering which everyone wants at level 70 and that gogles. Engineering is still a very funky profession to take if you don’t want to become an alchemist, blacksmith or jewel crafter.
Jewel crafting, why to become one when there are JC’s everywhere and the market prices are down and cheap to buy for everyone?
Gear: Not much to mention for this level. Use AH to buy cheap and very good low level gear for your character. At least replace your weapon with somethign common because those are very powerful. I had my first crit which hit over 100 at level 6 thanks to my 2-handed attack power statted axe.
GET STATS IN THIS ORDER: Strenght > Stamina > Agility. Easy, simple, and fun. Most of your damage comes from auto attack so strenght is the most important stat. Don’t be left on too low health either. Agility weights more with Deep arms build which i will talk a lot more soon, because your crits make your targets to bleed as well.
10-20:
Quests: Your defensive stance quest begings from the warrior trainer at once when you are level 10. You must complete it, and it’s not a long quest or even hard. After this you can also do an additional weapon quest, which is also vice to complete.
Zones: Horde should quest in the Barrens, which is close to 2 capital cities and has lots of quests and recourses for every trade skill. Alliance should go to Westfall / Redridge area.
Instances: 13-17 Ragefire Chasm, in middle of the horde capital Orgrimmar, so it should be easy to find. This is also a very easy instance in general. No drops to notice really. http://www.wowhead.com/?zone=2437 17-22 Wailing Caverns: A little bit more harder instance this time, and long because without a group which works in any kind of level it’s even easy to get lost or wipe. http://www.wowhead.com/?zone=718 17-22 The Deadmines: Great instance, you can’t get lost, but you can wipe if you aren’t carefull. You need a real tank and a real healer in here. And look at the loot! http://www.wowhead.com/?zone=1581
Talents: Depends on what is your style. 3 different types of specs i am using in this guide are: Deep arms, Dual Wied fury and 2-handed fury. With both deep arms and 2-handed fury look for yourself a fast 2-handed weapon. With DW, the weapon speed doesn’t matter much, but slow main-hander is better for whirlwind for example.
For start you will use what you got. You won’t learn DW until level 20, and DW isn’t a very good choise before you get it improve with talents. So stick with 2-handers for now.
DEEP ARMS: (You will repsec at level 40 for Mortal strike, so more crit is better for now)
http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/ba…00000000000000
FURY:
http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/ba…00000000000000
(Unbridled wrath can proc on heroic strikes and cleaves as well, making it the best of t2)
TIP: Collect intellect gear while you are questing, because you will face sitsuations when you’ll have to level your weapon skill. Intellect helps in this task, a lot. And if you have to level 2-handed mace skill for example, check AH for a faster 2-handed mace. If you have a one-handed weapon to level, use dual wield. Always spam hamstring.
20-30:
Quests: When you’ll ding 20, you will get a quest, which rewards you with a shiled from the trainer, after this quest is completed you will get a chance to do another quest with a lot better reward: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.ht…ive;witem=7133 That’s the horde name. Alliance version is called Firehardened Hauberk or something.. So it’s the same item. The cool down on that ”30 rage from nowhere” is 60 minutes! Still useful in at least bosses. Try to do this quest as quickly as you can, don’t be afraid to ask help for the hard parts.
Gear: Let’s continue with the gear section since we got started with the quests.. I just realized, when i was searching in the internet for low level hit rating gear, that there is close to zero, hit rating gear for lower levels! If you have a chance to use hit rating gear, do so. THis is what i found, Hauberk mail chest is better though: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24348
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.ht…ive;witem=3203
My beloved mace. Perfect speed and stats for a low level warrior. I used this mace from level 23 all the way to 35. It was underpowered in the end of it’s duty, but there is no other 2-hander as superior as this around the level. You have to get lucky or then buy it from AH. Me? I got it free from a guild member. If you are poor..

You might just wind up using this, which is easier to find, get and cheaper to use. Smite ( the tauren boss in The Deadmines) drops this. The speed is slow, but better than nothing right?
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.ht…ve;witem=20129
Arathi Basin boots. Has a different name in the horde side ofcourse. Minor speed is very important, i escaped from a ganker level 60 shaman once in these boots. (Chostwolf doen’t increase speed while swimming, but these boots do). And the only way to travel without flying is by foot anyways.
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.ht…ive;witem=6687
Every class wants this, even the ones who can’t wield it so watch out! This is not a must, but if you are planning on staying 29 for a longer period of time, this is a great axe for you. Note the fact it’s slow and the other fact you will replace it soon with a level 30 whirlwind axe/mace/sword. Still easy to get from Razorfen Kraul early boss and good if you are planning to solo most of the level 30s weapon quest. Slow, but very powerful.
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.ht…ve;witem=19557
PvP reward for fighting in WSG. 30 marks may sound like a lot of matches, but this weapon has big dps, it’s slow and wonderful. Horde has a different (better) name and styling once again. If this is your main hand and you are tired of grinding marks again, your off-hand could be something like this:
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.ht…ive;witem=1292
Drops from Shadowfang Keep. Perfect weapon to start dual wielding at level 20 if you want to, for both alliance and horde. Put this to your off-hand:
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.ht…ive;witem=6220
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.ht…ive;witem=2942
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=2941
Something similiar to Meteor shard would be this. These drop from The Stockades and the boss (called Bruegal Ironknuckle) is an extra boss there.. So he is not going to be part of your every run. He still drops both of these, so get just the other one.
Zones: Alliance: Should finish their questing in Redridge and then move to Duskwood. You should also pay a visit to Wetlands at level 24-25, when you can do more quests there. And for the Horde: You will see Stonetalon mountains really becoming an option now, got there at level 23 or so, do all the quests you find worhty and then proceed with Hillsbrad Foothills. In PvP servers Ashenvale horewer is a lot more safer place to level, with lots of quests to do. Southern Barrens includes a lot of walking, but usually the quests are a bit longer, including more killing so it doesn’t matter much.
Instances: The Deadmines and Wailing Caverns still been fresh you have a chance to go to Shadowfang keep http://www.wowhead.com/?zone=209 and The Stockades http://www.wowhead.com/?zone=717 at level 22-26. Razorfen Kraul http://www.wowhead.com/?zone=491at levels 28-33.
Talents:
Deep arms: http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/ba…00000000000000
Improved charge is a filler, so you can put those points elsewhere if you want… I know that some low level warriors like rend, the downside is that you must use talents to buff it up, and even then rend damage stays too low. Avoid like plague! If you are a ”cleaver grinder” imp. thunder clap is much better.
DW Fury: http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/ba…00000000000000
Another alternative for Commanding presence is imp. Cleave. You can live without Piercing Howl too, but it gives a lot for only one talent point. Can be used as an escape tool for instance.
2-handed Fury:
http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/ba…00000000000000
The idea on this 2-handed fury is, that you save points when you don’t have to take imp. dual wield. Besides you don’t need as much hit rating either.
