Player Vs Player.
PVP stands for Player Vs Player.
PVP may occur during:
Cape fightings
Guildwars
Acting jobs
Usually when someone says "PVP", he means cape fighting (and this type of PVP is the one that will be explained in this topic).
Do I need PVP?
Not really, but it's a good way to test your character's build.
If you are interested to do a job, PVP is a way in which you can see your character's limits vs another player. Because, when doing jobs, you will have to fight other players (if you are a merchant you have to face up thieves, same for hunters and vice-versa).
About capes
In order to be able to have a PVP fight, you need a cape. You can buy it at Grocery Shop of every town under the "Goods" tab. There are many colors of capes but apart from the orange one (Prodigy cape) the rest are all the same.
When you wear a cape, you will be able to attack (and be attacked by) every player that wears a cape with a different color of yours. But if you wear an orange cape, you can attack (and being attacked by) every player that wears a cape (even an orange one).
You will need some seconds to equip (or unequip) a cape. A yellow bar will appear above your character, showing the progress. During this, you may not walk, fight or do any action, otherwise it will be canceled.
A cape has no other usage apart from PVP and you can't add any stats (as STR, INT etc) on it.
How do I PVP?
After wearing your cape, you have to find an opponent. Most of the players that want to PVP are standing outside the city gates. If you go outside the South Gate in Jangan or the South Gate in Donwhang you will find lot of them there.
The players that can be attacked by you have a red nickname. Choose one and start the fight. But be carefull not to kill someone that doesn't have a red nickname, otherwise you will be a murderer!
Things you should know about PVP
You must be at least level 10 to be able to wear a PVP cape.
You do not become a murderer by killing someone in a PVP fight.
If you die in a PVP fight, you do not lose any XP.
Τhere is no way that you drop any of your items if you die in a PVP fight (it only happens if you are a murderer).
