A quick thankyou!, Adhoc GvG
Just a quick thank you note to everyone who heard the call at what was very very early monday morning my time for a bit of knock together GvG. Like most of my adhoc sessions, it grew from 3 people on IRC to a full team of 8, thanks to attendance from an aussie friend (Gogo Seksi Sera!) and a guest invite to Moo Moo of K T.
4 battles, 4 wins, no real build, just a balanced team.
One battle took us, well, 4 minutes. And we thought that was pretty good. Sure, the opponent wasn't great, sure they had some henchies, but the willingness of the team to follow direction and go for the jugular was fantastic. Moo Moo to the stand on Frozen Isle, us out to the central platform, straight into their base and they never reacted at all when we started on their Bodyguards, so one dead guild lord shortly followed.
But wait, we weren't finished yet!
Its rare these days for me to set new personal bests. Its exceptionally rare for me to do that while playing with casual Basin groups. So a huge attaboy to everyone who was involved in my quickest EVER contested GvG win. 2 minutes, 10 seconds, dead guild lord. Fantastic effort and result. Yes, we wiped their monks, pushed into the base, and wiped the lord before the res. Again, sure, they were horrible players (not ressing the monks? What gives?) but still a stunning result.
And another battle that went to a gank race, with both guild lords dropping at a drastic race. We were never in danger tho, it was a race we were always going to win.
I'll be trying to do more adhoc sessions, as its the only real way I get to play GW during the week. If you have some spare time, around 09:00 - 12:00 ish GMT, pop onto IRC/TS and drop me a note. Or just rock on over to AB4's guildhall when you hear the GvG call.
Thanks once more to everyone who responded to the call the other night! Was fun! http://www.theamazonbasin.com/gw/forums/index.php?showtopic=5821
