GvG Expectations, Casual, fun GvG in the Main Guilds Empty GvG Expectations, Casual, fun GvG in the Main Guilds

Here are The Basin's expectations about GvG within the main guilds.

Casual, fun GvG
All players are expected to conduct themselves in the spirit of "a community of friends playing games." The goal of Basin GvG is to encourage a casual, fun atmosphere for GvG that will allow all players to engage in GvG regardless of skill, level or experience. All characters are welcome to engage in either rated or unrated GvG, without respect to build considerations. Remember, people > rating. All players are expected to rotate in and out by turn, should there be more than 8 people interested in playing. If fewer than eight players wish to go into battle, they may do so with henchmen or invite guests. However, we expect that they will make an effort to fill out the team with Basiners before guests and humans before henchmen. Players are expected to play nice and show class both to fellow teammates and to opponents.

Players who wish to play more serious, more disciplined GvG are invited to form their own GLTs for ladder competion or join an existing GLT. Please see here for exact requirements for GLTs.

In-game Arbitration
It is natural in the course of events that disagreements can happen in game. Those directly involved should endeavor to work out issues in a mutually-agreeable fashion. On the very rare occasions when issues are grave enough or when they are unable to be resolved at the grassroots level, then players should seek out a member of the Basin Game Council who is in their specific guild to act as an ombudsman or arbitrator.

Edit: Re-enabled "unrated" GvG. See my post below about the unrated challenge bug.

Edit2: Nov 13, 2005: Clarified that these are our expectations about GvG in the main guilds and added references to guests.
