Quick & Easy Luckless Mage Guide
I’ve been meaning to make a luckless mage guide for some time now, but never really got around to it. Anyways, now that I’m really freaking bored, I guess I’ll write this thing.

So without further ado, here’s the guide:
What is a Luckless Mage?
Pretty simple question really; it’s all in the name.
A luckless mage is, like the name implies, a mage with very little points in the LUK (luck) ability. An alternate, more appealing name is the “Pure Int” mage. Luckless, or Pure Int mages, are one of the very few alternate mage builds (the other ones I know of being a battle cleric or HP cleric). The basic concept is that from the very beginning of your character’s life, you only put points into the INT ability.
Why go Luckless?
There are many reasons to go luckless: for fun, to be original, most likely the cheapest build, they’re damn powerful, they’re easy to maintain, and to exploit the powers of the mage classes.
Two of the biggest selling points on becoming luckless is their power, and their low cost of maintenance. Because luckless put all their points into Int - the biggest factor in determining damage - they become much more powerful much faster than normal build mages. All you have to do is go out and observe a luckless in action to see the difference. Luckless are also an incredibly cheap build; they most expensive item you will HAVE to buy (for now at least) is a yellow umbrella. And an average yellow umbrella doesn’t cost much more than 200-400k.
Another reason to go Luckless is that they capitalize on the good points of each different mage class. What I mean is, a luckless fire wiz will be VERY powerful, a luckless ice can hunt steeleys close to 10 levels earlier than regular mages, luckless Lit will level uber fast, and luckless clerics heal more (I think). Basically, they take whatever you loved most about each class, and make it even better.
