<-Noob hunting Torment Demon thingies, ~advice sought [spoilers]

So I'm a bit slow. :-)

I'm playing a character through Nightfall for my first time and I've run into a bit of a snag. My dervish is up to the Heart or Mind: Save Ronjok quest [en route to Nundu Bay] and I'm getting demolished by the Torment demon things that you run into there. The only real advice I've gotten out of some research is to wear my lightbringer title [I don't have one, I have something like 88 lightbringer points], and to use my lightbringer skills. Which I also don't have.

My basic issue is that when I approach the tormented NPC in Marga Coast and a pack of Torment creatures spawn, I end up overwhelmed with dupes of demons. They spawn faster than I can kill them. Interrupts are useless with Call to Torment, and I usually like to run one or two interruptors in my party [hereos/hench], so it's kinda disappointing that AN set them up like that. I have ended up with 10+ demons camping on the res shrine in my first and worst run.

So, I'm planning to go waste a few evenings figuring out how to raise my Lightbringer title to like 2 or 3 [is more needed?]. I think it's kinda pathetic that I'm this far along and there haven't really been any opportunities to earn that title/rank within the storyline [unlike the sunspear title, which now seems to be abandoned by the plot], but I guess that's a seperate topic.

Does anyone have any other advice for dealing with these things? I fully expect to be immersed in them when I hit the Realm of Torment, judging purely by the name of the place, so I guess I'll need to get comfy dealing with them. Does everyone's build when fighting these depend completely on 1) Showing Lightbringer Rank and 2) Using the same 1 or 2 PvE Lightbringer skills no matter what? That's kinda sad, if so. :/

Tangent: Is there any way to get Sunspear/Lightbringer skills on Heroes? It seems kinda dumb that my Sunspear Warrior, Koss, at the least, cannot use Sunspear Rez Sig.


So, may basic plan is:
1) Ditch interupts in favor of pure damage on heroes/henchies [gg AN with encouraging us to party with Mezmers and to bring a nice balanced party everywhere]
2) Farm Lightbringer Rank because lord forbid that any of my regular or Elite skills be useful. Forget those other 75 class skills, bring your Lightbringer Shizznit. Bleh.

3) Anything else? I'm open to suggestions.


This whole thing is a bit frustrating. I don't completely suck at this game, but I hate when game devs break all their own rules to Make a Challenge. I'm sure this will be old hat in short order, but it seems like pointless frustration at the moment. I had zero fun with my Dervish at any point this whole weekend. I just didn't want to play her and have made 4 or 5 runs at that stupid quest.

And I'm stubborn and want to figure it out without calling in guildies, because I know people won't always be available dealing with these later on. It's one freaking encounter spawn. Until I can handle this one spawn in my sleep, I'll be in trouble further on down the line, I suspect.
